Worked example. Built from OEM documentation to demonstrate our method. Ready to apply to your equipment and your standards.
The problem
Reliability data is only as good as the structure underneath it. In many SAP systems, hierarchy levels differ from site to site, history is lost when equipment moves, costs land on the wrong object and failure data cannot be compared. Fixing it by hand is slow, and the reasoning behind each decision is rarely written down.
What we built
Using the OEM manual and parts information for a Nordberg C160 jaw crusher, we built a complete, load-ready technical object structure:
- 12 functional locations, four of them equipment positions
- 8 equipment records, each with the reason it exists as its own object
- 35 OEM maintenance tasks mapped to the object they post against
- 0 reference errors after validation, with open decisions logged for engineers to confirm
How it works
- Collect: OEM manuals, parts books, drawings, existing registers and site codes.
- Codify: our structuring method, tuned to your company standards and conventions.
- Design and build: hierarchy, equipment classes, boundaries, classification, materials and maintenance plans.
- Validate: cross-reference checks, source traceability and a decision log.
- Review and load: your engineers confirm the open items, and we prepare the data in your load format.
Why it matters
A structure is a decision, not a data entry task. Because every assumption is recorded and every value traces back to a document page, your review is fast and the result is defensible. The same method applies in SAP, Pronto and other EAM systems.
